Meet Dr. Verena Young
Welcome, I’m Dr. Verena Young—a sociologist, educator, and trauma-informed mind-body practitioner dedicated to helping people rediscover peace, resilience, and their inherent worth. I believe our worth is God-given and unchanging—not something we must earn, prove, or protect, but something we are invited to remember and live from. My approach is compassionate, intuitive, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I work with individuals, children, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Many of us learned early in life—often without words—that love, acceptance, and belonging were conditional. We adapted, achieved, people-pleased, or hid parts of ourselves in order to feel safe and connected. Over time, these patterns shape how we experience relationships, self-worth, stress, and emotional well-being. My work helps you gently release these outdated survival strategies and reconnect with the truth of who you are beneath them.
Rather than forcing change, I believe healing happens when the mind and body feel safe enough to let go. I create a supportive space where transformation can unfold naturally—helping you reduce anxiety, build confidence, break free from unhealthy habits, process difficult experiences, and access the calm, clarity, and strength that already exist within you.
At Rising Calm Center, I integrate breathwork, clinical hypnosis, and somatic healing practices through a trauma-informed lens, supporting transformation on the subconscious, emotional, and physiological levels. My work combines childhood regression, parts work, shadow integration, and belief transformation with Neurogenic Yoga™ and TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) to help regulate the nervous system, release stored stress and tension, and cultivate lasting emotional well-being.
Breathwork serves as both a powerful calming tool and a pathway for releasing suppressed emotions, helping the body return to balance and safety. Hypnosis allows access to the subconscious mind, where many limiting beliefs and emotional patterns originate, creating opportunities for healing, insight, and renewal. Neurogenic Yoga™ and TRE® complement this process by activating the body's natural tremor mechanism—a gentle and instinctive process that helps discharge accumulated stress, tension, and trauma.
Over the past eight years, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of individuals through retreats, workshops, group programs, and private sessions. I have witnessed remarkable transformations in people struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, chronic stress, chronic pain, smoking addiction, insomnia, emotional eating, depression, PTSD, phobias, prolonged grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Nothing inspires me more than watching someone move from merely surviving to feeling empowered, connected, and fully alive again.

Dr Young has been a very stabilizing reassurance during a difficult time, grieving the loss of my only son, and navigating a loving way of coming alongside my daughter in her grief journey as well.
I worked with Dr Young for a few months after my husband passed away. She is very gentle and encouraging. Listened to me and let me vent. She created a warm comforting environment.
I have been seeing Dr.Young for over a year now and she has been extremely helpful. I have had many therapists over the years but Dr.Young has been the best one I’ve had by far. She is such a great listener and has helped me through very tough times.
